The Safety Coordinator shall be responsible for the following:

1. Safety Rules and Regulations

A. Stays well informed on needs of plant safety by reading Plant Safety Manual and OSHA Safety Standards Manual.

B. Performs a daily inspection of plant production area for safety hazards and safety violations and reports those to Production Manager.

C. Conducts an inspection of perimeter fence on daily basis.

D. Files all claims with the Industrial Commission.

E. Monitors and maintains records of industrial accidents.

F. Maintains OSHA log and files yearly 301A.

G. Handles all communication and correspondence with OSHA.

H. Files all claims with the worker’s compensation insurance company.

I. Handles all communication and correspondence with worker’s compensation insurance related to claims filed.

J. Authorized to receive drug tests results and follows up as necessary.

K. Ensures that all claim information is kept confidential.

L. Establishes an effective, professional relationship with HR/Payroll.

M. Oversees first aid accidents.

N. Conducts regular safety meetings with Production Department consistent with the OSHA subjects list.

O. Oversees monthly safety and accident review with Plant Safety Committee. Assigns safety topics for departmental review throughout the month.
