Honey Run Assembler

Position Title: Honey Run Assembly

MONDAY-FRIDAYS and some Saturdays-Morning shift
Core hours are 8am-5pm Monday thru Friday with overtime as needed

REQUIRED:
· GED or High School Diploma is required

· Requires basic reading and writing skills

· Requires basic math skills

· Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

· 2+ years experience in a high-speed manufacturing operation, preferably food production

· 2+ years of full-time experience as forklift operator

· Experience with “drum rotator” forklift attachment and drum handling attachments desirable

The handling of full and empty 55-gallon drums of raw material is one of the primary tasks for this position. The successful candidate must have significant material handling experience using a sit-down style forklift and/or other similar types of heavy equipment. Material handling in warehouses or manufacturing operations that move significant numbers of 55-gallon drums will provide the background we are seeking. Experience operating heavy equipment may also provide the skills we seek.

Maturity and mental focus are needed to assure accuracy and ability to perform the needed tasks in a timely fashion while avoiding damage to equipment and facilities.

 

Summary: This position involves the oversight of production room activities for a corporation that supplies sweeteners, to the retail, foodservice, industrial and bulk markets. The position includes the utilization of safe manufacturing practices and use of the correct reporting structure to ensure the safety of the employee, the equipment, and the integrity of the food products being produced.

Reports to: Plant Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Follow all company safety procedures

· Report all safety hazards or injuries

· Practice and promote GMP’s

· Good personal hygiene is expected

· Practice and promote Safe Quality Food (SQF) standards

· Notify Plant Manager or higher Management Staff of all concerns regarding any Food Safety or Quality issues

· Participate in training, audits, and meetings as requested by Plant Manager

· Operate forklift as needed

· Operate forklift with drum attachments- both hydraulic clamps and mechanical drum grabbers

· Follow “Honey Run” sheet, pull correct product by lot number as specified

· Wash/clean outside of drums before use

· Use hand tools or power tools to remove drum lids

· Place drums in melters for processing

· Process empty drums as applicable

· Clean melters as needed

· Check melter pipe outlet for proper placement and effectiveness of magnet filters

· Keep floors washed and cleaned

· Keep area well organized and free of hazards

· Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required
