Bilingual Senior Quality Auditor


Purpose
To audit, inspect and review all level of material used, modified, produced and shipped to customers for adherence to all applicable quality specifications, standards and criteria as specified and provided.
 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish)- MUST BE ABLE TO READ, WRITE, AND SPEAK GOOD ENGLISH
  • Good administrative skills
  • Basic knowledge of computer for data entry work, SAP research of BOMs and Drawings in Library
  • Regularly required to sit or stand, and move about the facility
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in an environment that is often loud, dusty, and experiences extreme temperatures
  • Ability to be at work everyday, on-time as scheduled and complete the entire scheduled shift
  • 100% of time will be spent on production floor.
 
Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience is required in Quality testing in heavy industrial manufacturing including but not limited to:
    • Welding: previous AWS certification preferred
    • Powder coating
    • Galvanization
    • Wet paint
    • Packaging
    • Load stabilization of trucks
  • Quality Standards Training preferred such as:
    • Six Sigma Green Belt
    • Lean
    • AQS certification on Quality Management Systems
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
  • Improve quality through gathering of data and manufacturing intelligence on how production processes are performing and to gain insights for process improvement along your entire production process
  • Reduce errors by sharing insights of best practices and corrective actions with all stakeholders in the product production process from design to sourcing to transportation and logistics.
  • Lower Costs by helping introduce and support a culture of continuous improvement of corrective actions that modify less than optimal behaviors and support greater accuracy and effectiveness


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
 
  1. Incoming Material Inspection
Responsibilities include:
  • Spot check and verify all applicable criteria of quantity, quality and conformance to specifications is achieved and/or adhered to when incoming material is received in any manner and from any source.
  • Perform material characterization with supplied tools ad techniques such as wire pull test to validate material yield as certified by supplier
  • Aggregate data collected during audits, spot checks and characterization tests into basic report for presentation to others including other Quality Team members, Managers and Members of the Departments and Leadership Teams
  • Provide objective and subjective feedback as to any professional concern or positive performance of any all suppliers that are evaluated.
 
  1. Quality Testing
Responsibilities include:
  • Validate WIP conforms to drawings and specifications throughout any aspect of fabrication and process
  • Perform predefined tests with tools provided on coatings applied to products including but not limited to:
    • Powder coat/wet paint thickness
    • Powder coat/wet paint curing
    • Powder coat/wet paint adhesion
    • Outgas perforation/bubble density
    • Surface deviation
  • Support customer specific requests for product testing as indicated in contract/purchase order documents.
  • Verify weld quality, placement and conformance to supplied drawing sand AWS standards as required
 
  1. Documentation
  • Record all test data captured during any product quality or process evaluation in form that supports later aggregation
  • Maintain these records and perform aggregation and trend analysis of data in search for individual and comprehensive behavioral analysis
  • Prepare reports for others as requested to communicate trends supported by data aggregation/analysis; be prepared to use said data/report to support data driven business decisions
  1. Customer Complaints
  • Serve as one member of a small Team that evaluates customer complaints for data driven root cause analysis
  • Work with Team to draft possible corrective actions in line with root cause
  • Monitor corrective actions measure for requested effectiveness to improve overall business efficiencies.
  1. Supplier Evaluation
Work with Procurement and Engineering to engage with current and future suppliers to validate:
  • Process capabilities that support the type of offering they can provide
  • Quality Manual, polices, procedures and associated documentation for minimally acceptable standards and their own demonstratable conformance to their own standards
  • Recovery capabilities and focus when non-conformance events occur, and remediation is required and time constrained
  1. Occupational Health and Safety
  • Maintain and support good housekeeping in work areas throughout the facility
  • Assist with safety audits as required
  • Assist to evaluate corrective actions taken
  1. Quality Awareness Training
  • Support quality awareness initiatives as requested by Leadership Team
  • Provide explanations to other personnel of quality concepts and provide examples of real use in current practice  
 
  1. Records/Filing
Assist in maintaining Audit records for end-to-end tracking of material utilization, lot tracking and containment as required.
 
  1. Authority
  • Reject or hold products due to non-conformance in liaison with Production Leaders and other Management personnel
  • Stop Production if a critically unsafe situation is identified
  • Initiate, recommend and provide solutions through designated channels
